Pros
Good for restaurants, travel, friends' houses
Easy to attach/install on most tables
Space saver / decoratively appealing
Removable fabric for washing
Cons
No footrest
Fabric not recommended for baby-led feeding
Will not attach with tables with overhang or “lip”
The Inglesina works well at many restaurants that we have taken it to and to friends’ and families' houses. It is easy to attach so long as the table doesn’t have a “lip.” If the table has a lip (isn’t flat/straight on the underside), the high chair can’t attach. We have had a few friends whose tables it didn't work on. It is great that the fabric is removable so that you can wash it in the washing machine, but if you are planning to do baby-led feeding/self-feeding (very, very messy), I wouldn’t recommend any high chair with fabric. Even though it is washable, you would likely need to wash it every night. Lastly, my husband and I originally registered for the Inglesina Chair in hopes that it would work as our permanent high chair at home. After all, it is a space saver and attractive. However, we later learned that babies eat best when they have a foot rest. Some parents put a chair underneath the baby and place books on the chair so that the baby can have a make-shift footrest, which we did for a while. As our baby got older, it got harder to prevent him from knocking the books onto the floor, which is when we switched to the IKEA Antilop High Chair. Ultimately, we would highly recommend it if you have extra money to spend on a second “travel” high chair, but we would recommend others for daily use.
Pros:
Affordable
Easy to clean
Perfect for baby self-feeding
Cons
Likely need to adapt by purchasing a footrest & cushion
Lots of stubbed toes for parents (Not kidding!)
Tray requires some muscle to remove (Tip: pull one corner up and it pops off more easily.)
After our Inglesina chair didn’t work out as our “daily use” chair, we turned to the IKEA Antilop high chair because one of our friends gave it to us as a hand-me-down. We didn’t have very high expectations for the chair since it was cheap, light, and affordable. It has become our favorite high chair (after testing the high chairs at the grandma’s houses). Because we wanted our baby to have a foot rest, we purchased the Ireka Baby Footrest on Amazon, which is compatible and affordable. We also purchased a wedge pillow to place behind the baby because he was a little too small at six months to fit comfortably. Though the specific pillow we purchased is no longer available, there are multiple Amazon sellers who have made pillow inserts and machine washable pillow covers that have great reviews. Though it is slightly cheaper to purchase through IKEA, you may want to purchase on Amazon to avoid shipping costs. We absolutely love how easy it is to clean this high chair. Though having a material cushion may defeat the purpose of easy-cleaning for some, it is easier to clean an easily removable pillow case than other high chairs that have fabric built-in.
Pros:
Folds easily
Compact
Seemingly comfortable for baby and toddlers
Cons:
Doesn't recline down or up for height
Only high chair (not a booster)
Harder to clean fabric
Grandma purchased this high chair for her house, so we use it when we visit her. In our experience, it is a sturdy yet light weight high chair that can be folded easily when not in use. However, a huge sticking point for us is how difficult it is to clean the fabric on the chair. If you are planning to feed your baby yourself, then it's not a big deal. However, if you are planning have baby self-feed, it gets messy really quickly and difficult to get food out of all the books and crannies. Unlike it's more expensive Graco counterpart, it also cannot be converted to a booster seat, so if you are looking for that, we wouldn't recommend. My sister purchased one of each (this one and the 6-in-one). She figured that by the time her first baby is done with the booster seat, she can have that younger one use it.
Pros:
Can convert to booster seat
Adjust recline AND height
Can grow with baby
Cons:
Bulky & takes up space
More expensive
Food traps
My sister uses this Graco high chair, and we often use it when we visit. If you are looking for a chair that can grow with your baby, Graco 6-in-1 is a great choice. The adjustable features ensure a good & comfortable fit for baby. If you live in a small apartment, the bulkiness might be a deal breaker. I find that the fabric on this Graco model is easier to clean than the Slim Snacker; however, it is still challenging to get all of the food out of the chair.
